Local Boy Missing
Concern growing after night-long search proves fruitless

Search parties combed town streets, yards, and the river’s edge last night after word broke of a missing boy.

Local sixth-grader Jimmy Richmond did not return home for supper after playing with friends after school Tuesday evening, according to Richmond family friend Kevin Grinberg. Jimmy’s parents, Terry and Veronica, were unavailable for comment at the time of publication.

Townspeople formed groups that worked through the night, bathing the Red River’s banks in a whitewash of floodlights as far through the wooded riverside as the eye could see. The main focus was directed on the east banks near the water treatment station due to accessibility, but some lights were seen as far as the west side of the river along Crow Wing Trail.

Mayor Wight confirmed to this reporter that he would place a call for RCMP search units to extend the search along both banks in the morning.

Jimmy recently placed second in the Argon Elementary Autumn Science Fair, Team Category, with three other students for their depiction of life on a planet with no living trees.
